I have always been fascinated with rackmount hardware. I suppose ever since I got into studio equipment. Having all the server equipment in one location is of course a benefit because it is all tidy and secure. Certainly or rather hopefully when you choose a piece of rackmount hardware which is likely anyway to be more expensive than the non-rackmount choice, it will be a more robust version optimised for cooling and designed to provide a 24/7 corporate service. Of course we should not forget that rackmount equipment and servers inside a cabinet simply looks so industrial and high tech. |
